Anthony DiLauro, who became executive director of Read to Grow in August 2011, has joined the board of the Literacy Coalition of Greater New Haven. He grew up in Connecticut and earned degrees from both Southern Connecticut State University (B.A.) and the University of Connecticut (M.S.W.). He then worked for years in New York, including as executive director of the Futures in Education in New York City after having led Boys Town New York, Inc., an affiliate of Father Flanagan’s Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska. He also served as a member of the expert panel of the Governor’s Task Force on Child Welfare in New York. The Literacy Coalition is pleased to welcome Anthony DiLauro back to Connecticut and to have him as a board colleague.
