Coaching for Literacy

Coaching for Literacy has formed a partnership with Yale University’s men’s basketball team.  Read to Grow is the immediate beneficiary.

Already, in spring 2013, members of the Yale team volunteered at New Haven’s Celentano School; literacy projects were their focus.

Community Colleges, from Tennessee to Connecticut

Tennessee’s governor has proposed two years of free community college or vocational school.

Also last week, the On Point radio program featured community colleges.

A May 2012 Literacy Forum included President Dorsey Kendrick of Gateway Community College.  That event previewed new limitations on remedial coursework that are now taking effect in Connecticut, with implications for high schools, too.
